Family & Friends,
Welcome to this Traditional Kitchen!

These clients love to entertain, and entertain they do.  Whether it is a marathon family baking session of Christmas goodies, or customer appreciation gatherings throughout the year, this is one busy kitchen.  Lack of square footage is not an issue for this room, it's issue is how it's  put together!!

The Challenge:
Design an updated, sofisticated configuration of cabinetry and countertops that utilizes every available inch, incorporating task areas with ample elbow room.

The Solution:
As the existing cabinets were in good shape, they were put up for sale and snapped up by a lucky cottage owner.  From there, the new design emerged.   The microwave was built in to a cabinet that has pull-out drawers of varying heights which are customed to my clients storage needs.

A small interior wall, where an upper once cornered, was removed which increased our line on this wall to the window in the nook.  We extended the countertop along this wall making room for a media centre with 12" cabinets below.  A cute spice cubby was tucked into the corner and a recessed shelf over the range keeps cooking oils handy.

A huge four foot deep island spans the length of the kitchen, housing undermout double stainless steel sink, dishwasher and plenty of storage cabinets tucked under the granite overhang.  Loads of counterspace make it perfect for an assembly line of bakers or a gorgeous buffet display.  The wine storage cabinet, with extra shelving for accessories or cookbooks, keeps the end of the island open inviting your site to carry accross it.

The wet bar allows easy access to specialty glasses and a liquor cabinet that locks to keep curious little people safe.  The copper sink and water pump faucet draw and receive the attention they deserve in this beautiful, elegant setting..
